Girard company claims to be target of major cigarette producers

A Girard company that makes automated cigarette rolling machines claims it is the target of secret lobbying by major cigarette companies.

RYO Machine Rental makes the claim in a federal appeals court brief aimed at preventing the state of Michigan from halting use of the rolling machines.

Michigan's Treasury Department claims the machines are illegal. But RYO says the law allows consumers to roll their own cigarettes for personal use.
