Monterey Park council to consider smoking ban

The City Council voted to draft a city ordinance to ban smoking after the Clean Air for Everyone Monterey Park Coalition (CAFE) presented at last week's council meeting.

Students from Mark Keppel High School, the Monterey Park Youth Advisory Board and other community members also spoke to the council last week.

CAFE conducted a public opinion survey in Monterey Park about smoking in public outdoor areas that indicated that the majority of residents approve banning smoking in public outdoor areas.
