Three raids to steal cigarettes are being linked

Police are hunting thieves who broke into a petrol station and a newsagents at the turn of the New Year.
They are linking the smash-and-grab raids in Wrotham and West Kingsdown with a previous service station break-in in Borough Green on December 15.
In the latest burglaries the offenders smashed a glass door to get into the Fina service station in Wrotham between 10pm on New Year’s Eve and 3.30am on New Year’s Day. A quantity of cigarettes was stolen.
A similar raid happened on New Year’s Day between 12.30am and 12.40am at Martin’s Newsagents in Hever Road, West Kingsdown. A door to the shop was forced and again cigarettes were taken.
A police spokeswoman said: “A forensic examination of both premises has been carried out along with house to house inquiries and officers are now following up possible lines of inquiry.
“Detectives investigating the burglaries are linking them to a similar incident at the Esso Service Station in Borough Green on December 15.”
