Local man facing cigarette, gun and drug charges

A 57-year-old Caribou man is facing several charges following the seizure of around 960 cartons of contraband cigarettes, 16 illegally stored firearms and a quantity of marijuana.
Members of the RCMP?Customs and Excise Section, Street Crime Team, provincial fuel and tobacco enforcement and the Pictou RCMP made the seizure from a residence on Bonny Road in Caribou last week.
The man faces charges under the Excise Act, Provincial Revenue Act, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code.
The investigation is continuing and further charges may follow.
The man was taken into custody and released to appear in Pictou court in March.
