An Asheville man was charged with stealing more than $20,000 dollars worth of cigarettes from two local stores, according to arrest warrants filed at the Buncombe County Magistrates Office.
James David Burbank, 39, of Conestee Street, was charged with attempting to break and/or enter, four counts of breaking and entering and eight counts of larceny after breaking or entering.
He allegedly broke into the Cigarette Depot on Smokey Park Highway and stole at least about $19,850 worth of cigarettes. He also broke into the Quick Stop on Merrimon Avenue and stole $1,000 worth of cigarettes.
His bond was set at $3,000.
