NCC women cadets of Guwahati on Tuesday took out a cycle rally on the occasion of the World Anti-Tobacco day. The rally was organized by staff and cadets of the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC in Guwahati, for spreading awareness on harmful effects of tobacco use on public health.
The cycle rally was flagged off by Col TR Sharma, commanding officer of the unit. The rally aims at generating awareness among people about the harmful effects of tobacco use, said a release issued by NCC.
Women cadet instructor Amrita Tamang addressed a lecture session on the harmful effects of tobacco in any form like cigarettes, cigars and pipes gutkha, pan masala, masheri, snuff and tobacco toothpaste for the cadets of MVM School, Six Mile. This rally is part of 'Anti Tobacco Day' event initiated by the office of DG NCC, New Delhi.
